On June 13, John Ray introduced the "Summer of Love" to Grace Church. This summer, rather than having community group questions each week, John and Scott will be challenging us with an activity based on the message and Scriptural text. Since John Ray is off sharing the love in Mexico for the next five weeks, I am posting this challenge in his stead.
As he mentions on our home page, John began his message by sharing that every problem in the world is a relationshiop problem, and the solution to every relationship problem is love. At the end of his message, he asked us to look at the conflicts in our lives. He then challenged us to imagine what would happen in that situation if we added more love to it.
As the Community Groups meet this week, I hope you are able to discuss situations when you took up this challenge in your own lives. Personally, I found myself griping about a frustration I have with another individual. I caught myself, and asked out loud, "What would this look like if I added more love." I'm a visual person, so I pictured myself sprinkling a salt shaker over myself. I then said, "Well, it wouldn't look like me being so judgemental!" I hope and pray I can keep picturing that salt shaker. If you catch me being critical, just give me a little shake...HA!
