UTTERLY AMAZED
Well friends, we’re all one week into the national emergency due to the COVID-19 virus. How y’all doing? I’m sure the answers are all over the board. And our answers say much about us — things like where we work, what personality type we have, where we gather our information. But most importantly, this is a great time to find out what we truly value. Testing has a way of making some things clear to us that we can’t see when life is easy, when nothing is asked of us. And what is testing but a time of being asked for things? Let’s dig in this week and see how Jesus handles this, and what it has to teach us, and let’s see why his answers let the crowds utterly amazed.

Leadership Council Nominations & Upcoming Table Groups
Hey friends,
I remember walking into the first little house on Gum Street Jane and I rented when we were first married. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen and living room. That was it. Looking back it seemed so small, was small, but felt so full of potential when we first moved in and surveyed the empty rooms. It was ready for us to make it ours, to furnish it fresh and fill it with our family to be. Nothing quite like that feeling is there?
But it's rare. The reality for most of us is we move into places and situations that are already inhabited, already cluttered with memories or obligations or expectations. Rarely, if ever, do we get to "start from scratch".
But we can't let that stop us from re-organizing things, setting things up in a way that allows for a fresh start or at least a course correction towards a dream, a too long put off goal, initiating a new habit.
This is where we are right now as a Church. Specifically, were kicking off new Table Fellowships this winter and we're transitioning out of a season of leadership being facilitated by the Catalyst team and are forming a new Leadership Council that along with an administrative team, will take over the responsibilities now being held by the Catalyst Team. And we need your help in both these areas. We need people who are willing and able to host and help host Table fellowships and people who can serve on the Leadership Council. Who do you see in those roles? Are you one of those people? For the next couple of weeks we're taking volunteers to host and help host the Table Groups and nominations for people to serve on the Leadership Council. We know we all have plenty of existing obligations and expectations, but this is important. It's a significant time in the life of our church for a fresh start and renewed vision. Will you be part? We hope so. So take some time to think about these responsibilities, pray about it, discuss it with people you trust and make your recommendations.
We're excited about where we're headed.
Grace and peace yall,
J. Ray
